Something Nice

We (Jerry, Alan, and I) had the chance to spend some time with Phillip Cooley. He’s a friend, Inchvestor, and general man about town doing awesome things in the city of Detroit. The rest of his family is also very active in the city. I’ve seen his parents at Corktown Residents’ Council meetings, and recently the New York Times wrote a very nice article about them.

ANYWAY! We had a really nice meeting with Phillip, in which we caught him up with our progress and where we want to take things. Jerry talked about the project as a whole, the mapping tools Larry is working on, and which properties we are trying to acquire. I convinced Phillip to share some deep-fried pickles with us, and drink at least 3 beers more than he had intended to. And, Alan filled him in on Project Lemon Battery and how really, purchasing the battery was the biggest hurdle we had to installing PLB on PLYMOUTH

So, it may be that he knows a good thing when he sees it, it might be that the 3 of us are ridiculously charming, or it may have been all the Guiness I persuaded him to have, but when we ended our meeting Phillip told us that he would buy the battery for LOVELAND and Project Lemon Battery!

So! Battery is on its way! Phillip Cooley, you rule! You are a good person, and people say nice things about you!

Here’s a very bad picture of Phillip getting ready to do very nice things.

And one of Phillip with PJ Ryder… I call this one “Two Detroit Restaurant Owners Face-Off!”!

So, if you find yourself in Detroit, and hungry, or thirsty, spread the love and visit the Cooley’s restaurant, Slow’s (Best mac and cheese evar)!
